What comes to mind when someone mentions in a conversation Kherson? Tomatoes, watermelons, cherries, some still remember the Reserve Askania Nova, Siwash Lake ... But it turns out that Kherson still has a lot of other advantages.
In Kherson technical grapes occupy 5.1 thousand ha (84%), of which 4.2 thousand ha (82.1%) are zoned (28 names). Share of zoned table grapes (17 titles) in the total area is 48.7%.
The largest area of technical varieties of Kherson region is occupied by Rkatsiteli - 960.5 ha (18.7%), smaller area is for PervenetsMagaracha (Magaracha Firstborn) - 413.9 ha (8.0%). Also there are cultivated varieties like Bianca - 6.6% Saperavi - 6.2%, green Sauvignon - 6.1%, Cabernet Sauvignon - 5.5%, Riesling - 5.5% and others.
Among table grapes, which occupy 928 ha (15%) the most common are Moldova, Suruchanskyy White - 6.2% Delight - 5.5% Pearl Hall - 3.9%.
One of the most famous vineyards in Kherson is Prince Trubetskoivineyard. They grow varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Aligote. All seedlings were imported from Italy and France. This company with a rich history: the first vineyards were planted here in 1989. Wines of this plant have been the owners of the Grand Prix of various renowned international tasting competitions. All the wines of this plant (Oksamyt Ukraine (Cabernet), Naddniprianske (Riesling) and Pearl of the Steppe (Aliquot) and dessert Sun in the glass wine) have a number of awards.
